Cantrell Named Photographer of the Year The Professional Photographers of Los Angeles Country, an affiliate of the Prefessional Photographers of California, named Redondo Beach's Amy Cantrell as the 1999 "Photographer of the Year." Additionally, Cantrell received two Judges' Choice awards for prints in the portrait and commercial categories during the Olympic Collection annual awards banquet, which was recently held in West Los Angeles. Cantrell's award-winning prints and her other critically acclaimed works were displayed last month during the Palos Verdes Art Center's Norris Film Gallyery's "Drawing on the Portrait" exhibition. A participant in the Center's Artist-in-Residence program, Cantrell recently conducted classes for approximately 250 local students in the sixth grade over a four-day period.
